Freire Charter School’s rigorous college-preparatory curriculum is designed to ensure that every Freire student graduates with the credits required for acceptance at any top college in the US.
This includes four years each of English, math, science, and social studies, as well as three years of language study. Our courses are designed to engage students deeply with their learning and bring to life connections between students’ classwork, their communities, and real-world issues. The passing grade for all classes at Freire Charter Schoool is 75%.

*Crew is an advisory course that houses our socio-emotional curriculum, builds school culture and community, and teaches the soft skills essential for college preparation.
Outside of Freire Charter School, advanced Juniors and Seniors may also take classes for both college credit and high school credit at local colleges and universities such as the Community College of Philadelphia, Drexel, Cheyney, Saint Joseph’s, Eastern, and Penn.
